I take my dog Bill to Pride and Joy for Doggy Day Care. It is the happiest he has been in a doggy social setting. When I come to pick him up from a full day's activities at Pride & Joy, he does not want to come back home with me. That is proof enough straight from the dog's mouth, a genuine canine testimonial! Joy has also been a wealth of knowledge regarding referrals for other canine services including holistic animal care.

I am so grateful to Joy and her staff. It is such a great feeling to be able to take my puppy to a place where he is safe, has fun, and gets excellent training and socialization every day. When we pull in the parking lot, he gets so excited that he is going to see Joy. He just can't wait to go in! When we pick him up, we get a full report of his day, including who he played with and how his training is going. It is so obvious that Joy and her staff truly love dogs and they go the extra mile to make sure they are well taken care of. I feel so comfortable leaving him there during the day because I know he comes home such a happy pup!! Thank you Joy for all of the hours and love you put into working with the dogs! We are so lucky to have you!

It was sheer delight to visit her in her center. When I walked in, soft classical music was playing and the air smelled sweetly perfumed like incense instead of the usual antiseptic smell of other similar establishments.
The visiting puppies were on their afternoon, post-lunch nap time. They would later get up to enjoy a doggie treat and playtime as well as a training class.
As a devoted dog lover, I was entranced. Joy Andersen is a love. I recommend this service most heartily.

I also highly recommend P&J! I've taken both my aussie and border collie doggies there once a week for the past year or so, they absolutely love it there. Joy is wonderful and takes great care of the dogs. There is plenty of staff for pack play supervision, and the best part is when you pick up the dogs, she gives you a report on how the dogs did that day. They don't just throw all the dogs in an area and have them at it, they have an organized schedule that suits the dogs, with break/rest times in between play times, brush and inspection times, and even training and obedience exercises. Not only do my dogs get to play and expend lots of physical energy, they are also mentally challenged and rules are reinforced. I do a lot of training at home and in the neighborhood, but with my two high energy dogs P&J has definitely helped us even more.
Your first day of daycare is free, so it's worth at least trying out if you have a doggie!

We love Pride and Joy. Our puppy has been attending since he was old enough and looks forward to going. There are 2 other doggy daycares closer to our house, but it's worth the extra drive. The difference I see with Pride and Joy is the structure. Our German Shorthaired Pointer puppy needs that, as they can be somewhat hyper. Joy's methods of redirection work so well for Heinrich. Unlike some of the other daycares, Joy trains the dogs while they are playing and they receive constant direction.
I cannot say enough good things and highly recommend Pride and Joy!

I had been looking and hoping for a place like Pride and Joy for a long, long time and I am very excited that I found it. I have been taking my dog who is 14 years old to Pride and Joy for the last several months and I have noticed a remarkable improvement in his demeanor and physical health. Joy really cares and loves the dogs and she takes the extra steps to make sure all dogs have a terrific experience. I would recommend anyone looking for a doggie day care facility in Austin to do whatever it takes to get their dogs to Pride and Joy which is a first class facility.

Thanks for calling me this morning, and for your immersive care of the dogs. I really value the personalized service and feel very pleased with things so far. I think the dogs will be the better for it.

I'm so lucky that I found Joy and her incredible staff to take care of my best friend while I'm working or running around all day. Obedience training and daycare all in one for a rate that is beyond reasonable. Joy has such a huge heart and is able to both nurture and teach animals (and their mommies and daddies). She's been a wonderful resource for us and has become a great friend too.

Love how this place offers doggy daycare plus training. Joy is a fantastic trainer. You can tell from her progress reports that she is a dog lover through and through! I love the amount of individual attention she gives my dog and I 'm sure he loves it too! Kingsley is very excited to go back!

I cant believe It has taken me so long to PRAISE Joy and her team at Pride & Joy! I have been taking my (now) Sweet Nola here for many months. I had started in puppy training classes, but was referred to Joy for her expertise due to some early agressive behaviors around other dogs. Within the first week I was seeing a difference and boy has she blossomed since we joined!!! Nola now loves to play with others and there is no more assertive behaviors. It is also very comforting to know you are leaving your "child" with someone you can truly trust 100%. Joy is the sweetest person and it is VERY clear she is a master at what she does. The dogs love her and so do the parents! Nola has learned her manners here and I have been told by multiple people that I have "the best behaved beagle they have ever seen". And for people who see the cost I can tell you it is SO worth it because of the added training in addition to the regular "daycare". As long as its available my Nola will grow up attending pride and joy.

Just wanted to let you know we, Vinny, Jake, and I learned so much from you, in just one day. We are very excited to be apart of your growing business.

I have never been a person who thought I would use a dog day care, but when our floors were getting done, I took our dogs to Joy every day for a week or so. Joy has a fantastic way with the dogs and provides training and a true understanding of the dogs and there issues. After each visit she tells me more about my dogs and things I can do at home. I love her and more importantly my dogs love her. We now go once a week to socialize and they RUN into the building excited for their day. We have now been going for several months and I highly recommend Pride and Joy! 5 Stars!!

Tucker has never been treated so well (and we have never felt so comfortable leaving him in another's care while travelling), than we have with Pride & Joy.

My puppy has alpha issues and we needed help! Little Bear has been going to Pride and Joy doggie daycare for a week now and I already see improvements with him. Joy is extremely friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. Seeing her handle dogs is amazing! You can tell that she loves animals and has a gift with communicating with them. Of course, it's really us humans that need the training and Joy is very helpful with feedback and any questions that we might have. Hopefully soon our puppy won't be so "bossy" anymore!
Please note that daycare prices include training. Even though the price is slightly higher than other doggie daycare centers, the extra training is well-worth it!

Hi Everyone,
Our dogs had the pleasure of playing today at Pride and Joy Dogs, which is in the Crossroads (?) Shopping Center, former home of Blockbuster. Joy was lovely to deal with! She is a Vet Tech and Canine Trainer and the way she handled our pups was perfect. She uses calming aromatherapy during nap times and even called home with a lunch-time report. She checked out both dogs very carefully and picked up on a couple of physical things that we knew about, which was a very nice benefit. At the end of the day, Joy gave us a very thorough personality report, too, which was a hoot. (It's fun to hear other people talk about your own dogs.)
I peeked in and believe I saw indoor play rooms plus I know there is an outdoor space with pools and toys because I was told that Tonks spent a long time placing each toy in the pool and plonking them down with her paw.
Anyway, I was very impressed and the dogs inhaled their food and water and are now sleeping happily, so I guess that speaks for itself.
